Lying down may help you access your health!

View belly fat from a different perspective.  New research suggests that the height of your belly, measured from the floor as you're lying down, can hint at possible health problems.  In fact, this as a better indicator of issues with blood pressure, cholesterol, and liver than either BMI or body weight.  With gravity pushing superficial flab out to the sides, you can measure the more harmful far deep in your belly.  Try this: Lie on your back with a board placed across your belly and hip bones.  Next, stand a yardstick upright on the floor next to you.  Measure up to where the yardstick meets the board and divide that number by your height. (round both to the nearest 1/4 inch).  Is your number over 0.14?  If so, you  may be at higher risk for the problems above.
